FAQs

What is CP Soap?

CP Soap is the short abbreviation for Cold Process Soap. This soap is handmade and produced through the saponification process.

What is Saponification?

“Saponification” is the name given to the chemical reaction by which an alkali (usually sodium hydroxide - also called caustic soda or lye) reacts with fats and oils to make soap.

Is there lye in your soap?

No. Lye is needed to make any form of handcrafted soap. The critical thing to remember is that no lye remains in the final bar of soap. Just a pure, clean, and long-lasting bar of soap.

How long will my soap last?

It depends entirely on you as the bath lover or shower taker. Handmade soap will last anywhere from several weeks to several months. The bar will last longer if not set directly in a shower stream or on a soap dish with the ability to dry between uses. Cure time makes a big difference. A longer cure time means a longer-lasting bar.

How long do you cure your soap?

A minimum of 4-6 weeks ensures a hard, long-lasting, mild bar of clean soap.

I live in the local area. Can I pick up my soaps and not pay to ship?

Yes. Please get in touch with me at info@sweetbeasus.com to coordinate a meet time and day.

I have allergies, do I need to be concerned to any of the products?

If you are concerned about an allergic reaction, test the product on a small area of skin and stop using it if irritation occurs.

Do you offer any refunds for products that melt during shipping?

I use very few stabilizers or preservatives in my products, making them vulnerable to the weather. Shipping during cold or hot weather may cause freezing or melting. This will definitely alter the texture of many of my products, specifically body butter and lotion bars.  If the product has melted when you receive it, put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes so it can re-solidify. If the product is frozen, allow the product to heat up to room temperature.

I will not reship or offer any refunds for products that melt during shipping. Melting does not affect the wonderful skin nourishing benefits, and the products are still entirely safe to use.
